What we do
Ingent designs the civil and infrastructure engineering that makes a development work — from the first pre-purchase appraisal, through the drainage and highway strategy that supports a planning application, to the detailed drawings a groundworks contractor builds from and the agreements that get the finished infrastructure adopted.
We work for clients ranging from single-plot developers to national housebuilders, on greenfield and urban sites, and on schools and commercial projects. The five services below are offered separately or as a package.
Pre-Planning
Pre-purchase and planning assessments that identify cost and programme issues before land changes hands, and set access and drainage strategy early, when it is cheapest to get right.
Drainage Design
From private drainage for a handful of homes to adoptable sewer designs and strategic improvements on large residential sites, using the latest modelling software.
Sustainable Drainage Systems
SuDS schemes from permeable paving to swales, infiltration and detention ponds — designed for runoff rate and volume, water quality, amenity and biodiversity — together with management and maintenance schemes for the lifetime of the development.
Flood Risk Assessments
FRAs on sites of all sizes, satisfying National Planning Practice Guidance and Planning Authority requirements, covering fluvial, tidal, surface water and groundwater flooding, existing sewers and infrastructure failure.
Roads & Highways
Highway design and liaison with the Highways Authority at every stage — Section 38 and Section 278 Agreements, Minor Works and Temporary Site Access Agreements, Technical Approval, and condition surveys and inspections of on-site road construction.
