The Team
Ingent is a civil and infrastructure engineering practice working from two offices — Claydon, near Ipswich, and Bury St Edmunds — with twenty-four people between them. We design highways, drainage, SuDS and flood risk solutions for residential, industrial and education schemes across East Anglia, the South East and the Midlands.
The practice has traded under the Ingent name since 2017, and its roots in the region go back to 2004. In September 2023 it completed a management buy-out, and is now owned and run by its three working directors — who between them have more than forty years’ service with the firm and sixty-five years in the industry.

Owner and Director
Kieran, a Chartered Civil Engineer, leads the Bury St Edmunds Office that he established back in 2018. With over 20 years’ experience, his career ignited within the construction sector back in 2005, Kieran has amassed invaluable hands-on experience in dealing with the practical application and problem solving, his adeptness extends to effective collaboration with clients, contractors, and authorities. At present, Kieran’s responsibilities revolve around the design and oversight of Civil Engineering projects across the size spectrum, these schemes include the intricacies of planning, drainage strategies, Flood Risk Assessments, highways, and earthworks, all the way through to meticulous design considerations and adoptions. While his work primarily keeps him stationed in the office, Kieran finds great satisfaction in venturing out to construction sites, witnessing the tangible application of his endeavours. Beyond his professional life, he dedicates time to his personal interests, which encompass snooker, pool, chess, and the world of motor racing.

With nineteen years’ engineering experience, Matt is managing the infrastructure design for numerous developments across East Anglia with involvement in all stages from strategy and planning support to delivery of major schemes. Trying to find innovative approaches to engineering challenges is one of his favourite tasks. Out of hours Matt can be found spending time with his family and cycling around the lanes of Essex where he lives.

Dan is an Incorporated Engineer with 25 years of experience and specialises in highway and drainage design, using his in-depth knowledge of SuDs to produce Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies to meet the constantly developing legislative requirements. He particularly enjoys the problem-solving aspect of his job, finding creative solutions to challenges. Away from the office Dan plays badminton for Rushmere Badminton Club and plays seven aside football.

In addition to the variety of her role, she really enjoys the camaraderie of being part of a supportive team, with everyone working together for the same end result. Away from the office, Sarah likes nothing more than being out in the fresh air with the Suffolk Striders Nordic Walking Group.
